Attention all Balloonists:
We still have a few available spots if
you would like to participate this year. We also added a

Fundraising
Opportunities
Your organization, school, or booster club can raise money.
Proceeds will be shared by your organization and the Lions Club
charities. You will be able to participate in one of Denton
County's premier events, the Highland Village Balloon and Music
Festival! This event draws more than twenty thousand patrons
from all over the North Texas area.
You can operate your own carnival game for income generation.
Some ideas might be Ring Toss, Bean Bag Toss, Can Smash, Dart Throw,
etc. If you can imagine it you can do it! Just come up
with an idea, create a business plan, and make it happen. We
will be delighted to have your group participate.
What do you need to do?
First, call or
email Mike Sawyer to tell us you are interested. If you
have a game in mind that you would like to do then be sure to
include that information. Then create a business plan with
your group and submit it to Mike Sawyer for approval. Once it
is approved you need to go to work to make it happen!
What do we need to see in your business plan?
a. Name of the game.
b. Space requirements
c. Safety issues.
d. Rules of the game.
e. Number of workers on duty.
f. Hours of operation. We prefer that you be
there on Friday (5:00 pm to 10:30 pm) and Saturday (9:00 am to 10:30
pm)
g. Equipment used.
h. Setup time. We prefer that you setup on
Friday before noon.
i. Electrical and lighting requirements.
j. Cost of Equipment.
k. Prizes given if any.
l. Cost of prizes if any.
m. Amount you will charge each participant.
Keep in mind that your group will accept only tickets as payment and
each ticket is worth $1. You can charge any amount as long as
it is in one dollar increments. When you cash in your tickets,
your group will keep 75% and the Lions will retain 25%. You
need to charge enough to make a profit but keep it reasonable so
that people can afford to participate. Make it exciting and
your game will be popular. If you award prizes it may be more
attractive and may boost your income. But, again, prizes are
optional. Remember, your group is completely in control of
your game.
